I have been meaning to get back to posting the wisdom of experience, however, I have been having too many experiences lately to generate any interesting posts. Life is great. We need to appreciate the moments that are given to us and the ones we craete.
My wife and I were spending a few quite days down in Hilton Head, South Carolina. This morning we went on a walk through the nature preserve and observed many different birds, snakes, turtles, plants and yes, gators within just a few minutes of entering the preserve. There is a certain peace one feels when among the great live oak trees, palmetto plants and spanish moss and all you can hear are the birds in the trees.
It is amazing to see all of the nature within a few hundred yard of roads and housing. In fact, the alligators were in the backyard of some condos. I tried to take a few pictures of the spanish moss in the trees, however, it was really difficult to capture the true essence of the scene. We were walking along a raised path and the primitive natureness (not real word, I know) was a bit too much for my wife. When she saw the boards along the path that were to prevent the alligators from climbing onto the path, she headed back to the car.
A beautiful area within a great place to relax. Nature is all around.
